สถานกงสุลใหญ่ ณ นครกว่างโจว จัดงานเทศกาลลอยกระทงประจำปี 2556

เมื่อวันที่ 17 พฤศจิกายน 2556 สถานกงสุลใหญ่ ณ นครกว่างโจว ร่วมกับมหาวิทยาลัยภาษาและการค้าต่างประเทศกวางตุ้ง (มหาวิทยาลัยกว่างว่าย) จัดงานเทศกาลลอยกระทงประจำปี 2556 ที่มหาวิทยาลัยกว่างว่าย วิทยาเขตเหนือ เพื่อเผยแพร่ประเพณีวันลอยกระทงและวัฒนธรรมไทยให้สาธารณชนทั้งชาวจีนและต่างชาติในมณฑลกวางตุ้งได้รู้จักอย่างกว้างขวางมากขึ้น มีผู้สนใจเข้าร่วมงานกว่า 800 คน ประกอบด้วยผู้แทนสถานกงสุลใหญ่ในนครกว่างโจว นักศึกษาชาวไทยและชาวจีนจากมหาวิทยาลัยในนครกว่างโจว รวมถึงประชาชนทั่วไป

หลังจากที่นายฟาง ฝานฉวน รองอธิการบดีมหาวิทยาลัยกว่างว่ายได้กล่าวต้อนรับ และกงสุลใหญ่ ณ นครกว่างโจว ได้กล่าวถึงประวัติความเป็นมาของเทศกาลลอยกระทง ผู้เข้าร่วมงานได้ร่วมสนุกไปกับกิจกรรมบนเวทีที่หลากหลายประกอบด้วยการแสดงทางวัฒนธรรมจากนักศึกษาไทยและนักศึกษาจีน การประกวดนางนพมาศประจำปี ประกาศผลการประกวดกระทง การตอบคำถามชิงรางวัลและการจับฉลากบัตรโดยสารเครื่องบินไป-กลับ กว่างโจว-กรุงเทพฯ  ซึ่งสนับสนุนโดยบริษัท การบินไทย จำกัด (มหาชน) สำนักงานกว่างโจว และกระเป๋าเดินทางจากการท่องเที่ยวแห่งประเทศไทย สำนักงานกว่างโจว

สมาคมนักเรียนไทยในมณฑลกวางตุ้งได้ร่วมสร้างสีสันให้กับงานลอยกระทงที่ลานด้านนอก โดยได้ออกร้านจำหน่ายอาหารและขนมไทย จำหน่ายกระทงที่ประดิษฐ์ขึ้นจากวัสดุธรรมชาติ และจัดกิจกรรมเล่นเกมส์ชิงรางวัล ซึ่งสามารถดึงดูดให้ผู้สนใจเข้าร่วมชมงานจำนวนมาก 

เมื่อกิจกรรมบนเวทีเสร็จสิ้น ผู้เข้าร่วมงานต่างทยอยไปลอยกระทงที่คลองเซียงซือในมหาวิทยาลัย ซึ่งสร้างความประทับใจแก่ผู้เข้าร่วมงาน เพราะได้ร่วมกิจกรรมประเพณีไทยที่เกิดขึ้นในวันเดียวกันกับที่มีการจัดงานในไทยด้วยและได้เห็นความสวยงามของกระทงที่ลอยกับสายน้ำ

       On 17 November 2013, the Royal Thai Consulate – General in Guangzhou, in collaboration with the Guangdong University of Foreign Studies (GDUFS), held Loy Kratong Festival for the second consecutive year at the GDUFS, North Campus, Baiyun District. The activity was aimed to promote the traditional Loy Kratong Festival and Thai culture among Chinese and foreigners in Guangzhou. More than 800 participants joined in the event, comprising representatives of the consular corps in Guangzhou, Thai, Chinese and other foreign students from various universities in Guangzhou as well as general public.

        On the stage, the Vice President of the GDUFS gave a welcome speech and Thai Consul-General Suphatra  Srimaitreephithak gave a brief introduction of Loy Kratong festival. The audience enjoyed a variety of activities, namely Thai traditional dances, Nang Noppamas Beauty Pageant Contest participated by both Thai and Chinese students and the announcement of the Kratong-Making winners. The most exciting activity was the lucky draw with the grand prize being Guangzhou - Bangkok round-trip air ticket sponsored by Thai Airways International, Guangzhou Office, and a travel luggage sponsored by the Tourism Authority of Thailand, Guangzhou office.

        The Thai Student Association of Guangdong (TSAG) also contributed greatly to the event, making and selling Thai food and dessert and environment-friendly Kratongs. Games are organized by the Association for visitors to win the prizes which drew a lot of attention.

              After all the programs on the stage, the audience proceeded to the Xiangsi Canal on the campus to float their Kratong. Participants were impressed with the beautiful sceneries of floating Kratong along the waterway, and with the fact that Loy Kratong Festival at GDUFS coincided with that in Thailand on the very same day.
