เมื่อวันที่ 19 สิงหาคม 2555 นางสุพัตรา ศรีไมตรีพิทักษ์ กงสุลใหญ่ ณ นครกว่างโจว พร้อมด้วยข้าราชการทีมประเทศไทย ณ นครกว่างโจว ได้ร่วมพิธีเปิดและชมการแข่งขันชกมวยไทยเทิดพระเกียรติสมเด็จพระนางเจ้าฯ พระบรมราชินีนาถ เนื่องในวโรกาสที่ทรงเจริญพระชนมายุครบ 80 พรรษา ตามคำเชิญของสหพันธ์มวยไทยอาชีพโลก ณ สนามกีฬาไห่จู นครกว่างโจว สาธารณรัฐประชาชนจีน โดยมีชาวไทย ชาวจีนและชาวต่างชาติอื่น ๆ ร่วมชมกว่า 900 คน
ในโอกาสนี้ พลเอกชัยสิทธิ์ ชินวัตร ประธานคณะกรรมการจัดการแข่งขัน ได้กล่าวว่า การแข่งขันชกมวยเทิดพระเกียรติฯ ครั้งนี้ นอกเหนือจากเป็นการถวายความจงรักภักดีเนื่องด้วยสำนึกในพระมหากรุณาธิคุณของสมเด็จพระนางเจ้าฯ พระบรมราชินีนาถ ยังเป็นการเผยแพร่ศิลปะการต่อสู้แบบไทยโบราณในรูปแบบกีฬามวยไทยให้ชาวไทยในต่างแดนและชาวต่างชาติได้ตระหนัก ตลอดจนใช้ศิลปะมวยไทยเป็นทูตวัฒนธรรมทางการกีฬาเพื่อเชื่อมความสัมพันธ์และมิตรไมตรีอันดีระหว่างราชอาณาจักรไทยกับสาธารณรัฐประชาชนจีน
การแข่งขันชกมวยไทยเทิดพระเกียรติประสบผลสำเร็จเป็นอย่างดี โดยมีนักมวยไทยที่มีชื่อเสียงอย่าง “พีเค แสนชัยมวยไทยยิม” นักมวยจีน และนักมวยต่างชาติ อาทิ อาร์เจนตินา บราซิล ร่วมชกแข่งขัน

Consul-General to Guangzhou attended the Muay Thai Competition
in celebration of Her Majesty Queen Sirikit’s 80th Birthday Anniversary
On 19 August 2012, Mrs.Suphatra Srimaitreephithak, Consul-General to Guangzhou, together with Team Thailand officials at the Royal Thai Consulate-General, attended the opening ceremony of the World Muaythai Competition in celebration of the Auspicious Occasion of Her Majesty Queen Sirikit’s 80th Birthday Anniversary 12th August 2012 upon the invitation of the World Professional Muaythai Federation at Haizhu Sports Center, Guangzhou. More than 900 Thais, Chinese and expats came to watch the competition.
On this occasion, General Chaiyasit Shinawattra, President of the Organizing Committee and Advisor to Prime Minister, mentioned that the event was aimed as a tribute to Her Majesty the Queen. The event was held also to promote Thai boxing among the Thai community and foreigners abroad. Moreover, Muay Thai serves as Thailand’s sport and cultural ambassador, connecting Thailand and China with cordial ties and friendship.
The Muaythai Competition was held successfully. The audience was thrilled with the original Thai boxing skills from famous Thai boxers such as “PK Sanchai Muaythai Gym”. Boxers from China, Argentina and Brasil also participated in the event.
