เมื่อวันที่ 22-25 กันยายน 2555 สถานกงสุลใหญ่ ณ นครกว่างโจว โดยการดำเนินงานของศูนย์ข้อมูลธุรกิจไทยในจีน (BIC) นำผู้ประกอบการวิสาหกิจขนาดกลางและขนาดย่อม (SMEs) ตัวแทนประเทศไทย จำนวน 62 รายที่สถานกงสุลใหญ่ฯ ได้คัดเลือกร่วมกับทีมประเทศไทย ณ นครกว่างโจว ร่วม “งานแสดงสินค้า SME นานาชาติจีน” ครั้งที่ 9 หรือ 9th China International SME Fair (CISMEF) ที่ศูนย์แสดงสินค้านำเข้าและส่งออกจีน (ผาโจว) ณ นครกว่างโจว โดยมีประชาชนท้องถิ่นและต่างชาติให้ความสนใจเข้าชมงาน CISMEF ในปีนี้กว่า 240,000 คน
หลังจากการเปิดงาน CISMEF ในวันที่ 22 กันยายน 2555 นางสุพัตรา ศรีไมตรีพิทักษ์ กงสุลใหญ่ ณ นครกว่างโจว ได้นำนายเหมียว เหว่ย รัฐมนตรีว่าการกระทรวงอุตสาหกรรมและสารสนเทศจีนเยี่ยมชมพื้นที่จัดแสดงของประเทศไทย โดยกงสุลใหญ่ฯ ได้เสนอผลิตภัณฑ์จาก “มะขาม” ไม่ว่าจะเป็นมะขามสด มะขามแปรรูปขบเคี้ยว ตลอดจนผลิตภัณฑ์ความงาม ในฐานะที่มะขามเป็นหนึ่งในสามสินค้าตามโครงการ 1 ทูต 3 ผลิตภัณฑ์ซึ่งสถานกงสุลใหญ่ฯ ประสงค์ผลักดันในพื้นที่ (สินค้าอีกสองรายการคือ เครื่องปรุงอาหารและอาหารสำเร็จรูปแช่แข็ง) สินค้าไทยอื่น ๆ ที่จัดแสดงในงานมีความหลากหลายแบ่งได้เป็น 4 กลุ่ม ได้แก่ 1) อาหารและเครื่องดื่ม 2) สินค้าแฟชั่นและไลฟ์สไตล์ 3) บริการและท่องเที่ยว และ 4) ผลิตภัณฑ์ที่เป็นมิตรกับสิ่งแวดล้อมโดยเป็นสินค้าที่นำเสนอโดย SMEs ที่มาจากประเทศไทยโดยตรง จำนวน 42 ราย และ SMEs ในพื้นที่ดำเนินธุรกิจอยู่แล้วในจีน จำนวน 20 ราย
การมีส่วนร่วมของประเทศไทยในงาน CISMEF ประสบผลสำเร็จ และนับเป็นการต่อยอดจากเมื่อปี 2554 ที่ประเทศไทยโดยสำนักงานส่งเสริมวิสาหกิจขนาดกลางและขนาดย่อม (สสว.) ได้เป็นประเทศเจ้าภาพร่วมในงาน CISMEF ครั้งที่ 8 ซึ่งเป็นประเทศแรกในอาเซียน โดยครั้งนั้น มี SMEs ไทยเข้าร่วม 187 ราย สำหรับงาน CISMEF ครั้งที่ 9 ในปี 2555 นี้มีเวียดนามและเอกวาดอร์เป็นประเทศเจ้าภาพร่วม

The Royal Thai Consulate-General in Guangzhou brought Thai SMEs
to the 9th China International SME Fair (CISMEF)
On 22 - 25 September 2012, the Royal Thai Consulate-General in Guangzhou together with the Business Information Centre led 62 Thai SMEs to attend the 9th China International SME Fair (CISMEF) at China Import and Export Fair Complex (Pazhou). The fair attracted more than 240,000 domestic and international visitors.
After the opening ceremony on 22 September, Consul-General Suphatra Srimaitreephithak invited Mr.Miao Wei, Minister of Industry and Information Technology of the PRC, for a brief visit at Thailand’s exhibition area, introducing tamarind products ranging from fresh tamarind, chewing tamarind candy, and tamarind beauty supplements. Tamarind is among the three products that the Consulate sees potential and aims to promote in Guangdong and Hainan under the on-going MFA’s “1 Mission 3 Products” Project. The other two products also targeted are seasoning and ready-to-eat frozen food. The products showcased in CISMEF were grouped into 4 categories, namely 1) food and beverage 2) fashion and lifestyle products 3) services and tourism and 4) environment-friendly products. These products are brought to the 9th CISMEF by 42 SMEs coming directly from Thailand and the other 20 local importers in China.
The exhibition to promote Thai SMEs in the China market went successfully. The success adds to Thailand’s high-profile participation as co-host, the first country in ASEAN to ever participate in CISMEF, during the last year’s 8th CISMEF. Then, the Small and Medium Enterprises Promotion (OSMEP) brought 187 SMEs to represent Thailand. This year Vietnam and Ecuador co-hosted the 9th CISMEF.
